In part two of our three part series exploring the first Unlimited International touring partnerships, we look at the work of Brazilian rapper and disability arts activist Billy Saga and his upcoming collaboration with Drake music.
Supported by Unlimited, Drake Music will host Billy Saga’s first ever UK tour; a combination of performances and workshops in London, Bristol and Gateshead.
Billy’s vibrant sound fuses hip-hop, reggae, dub and samba to explore a diverse range of concepts and issues from international affairs, politics and modern relationships with technology and religion.
This tour represents the opportunity for Billy to take his relationship with his online collaborators Kid Campbell from studio to stage in an exciting UK debut featuring the vocals of Jú Caldas.
Michael Dollan, Project Manager at Drake Music, told us they’re ‘very excited’ to be working with us to produce Billy’s premier tour of the UK: ‘Drake Music has worked with Billy Saga previously in a collaborative music project between Drake Music and Mais Diferenças, São Paulo, Brazil, featuring Billy Saga We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to revisit our relationship with Billy Saga and to bring the benefits of his experiences, and of course his music, to the UK’.
